Shock-Sensitive, Reactive, and Explosive Material: R.E.M.T.C. is one of the few firms in the United States to offer the following high hazard remediation services:

Evaluation, remote accessing using specialized equipment, and identification of shock-sensitive, reactive, and explosive material and chemical unknowns;
Field reactivity testing using Trauzl Block, Friction, and Colorimetric procedures;
Stabilization and/or controlled detonation of shock-sensitive, reactive, and explosive material; and
Thermal treatment of manufactured blasting agents and pyrotechnic materials.

Compressed Gas Cylinders: R.E.M.T.C. offers a complete line of compressed and liquefied compressed gas cylinder remediation services including:

Inspection, sampling, and identification of unknown cylinders;
Handling of badly deteriorated cylinders;
On- and off-site decommissioning;
Down-loading into appropriate solvents;
Recycling/reclamation; and
Packaging, transportation, and off-site disposal

R.E.M.T.C. maintains the necessary recovery vessels and other specialized equipment to ensure that cylinder inspection, sampling, and decommissioning is performed in a secure, shock-sensitive containment system designed to prevent accidental venting.

Unexploded Ordnance (UXO): R.E.M.T.C.'s UXO program meets and/or exceeds all government requirements for UXO site remediation work. Land, subsurface, and open water UXO detection and remediation services provided by R.E.M.T.C. include:

Field surveys for unexploded ordnance,
Field testing for energetic and explosive items;
Sampling and off-site analysis using EPA Method 8330;
On-site detonation/incineration of small caliber ammunitions, flares and CN-CS grenades; and
Ordnance packaging, transportation, and off-site disposal.

R.E.M.T.C.'s UXO personnel have extensive domestic and international experience and meet the EOD Technician and/or Supervisor requirements established by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Remediation of Former Explosive Manufacturing Sites: R.E.M.T.C. has developed expertise in the pre-treatment and decontamination of explosive plants and other structures where energetics or explosives were manufactured, stored, or used. Services provided by R.E.M.T.C. include:

Perchloric acid hood and duct inspections, stabilization and removal;
Pre-remedial surveys for explosive residue;
Surficial decontamination and verification sampling/analyses;
Dismantlement of contaminated underground pipes, duct work, sinks, drains, sumps, etc.
Containment/treatment of shock-sensitive , reactive and explosive materials.

Laboratory Chemical Packaging:
Lab pack services provided by R.E.M.T.C. include:

Sampling and field/laboratory analyses of chemical unknowns;
Material classification and segregation;
Stabilization, thermal treatment and/or controlled detonation of shock-sensitive, reactive, and explosive material;
Packaging and labeling per USDOT and RCRA guidelines;
Preparation of hazardous waste manifests and other shipping documents;
Transportation by fully-permitted hazardous waste haulers; and
Disposal at fully permitted and approved TSDFs (treatment, storage, and disposal facilities).
